MK Michal Shir Announces Departure from Yesh Atid Party

Member of Knesset Michal Shir has announced she will not run in the upcoming Knesset elections, becoming the latest prominent figure to leave the Yesh Atid party. Shir informed party chairman Yair Lapid of her decision before the Sabbath.

In a statement, Shir expressed her full confidence in Lapid, her colleagues, and the party's mission to bring about significant change in Israel. She emphasized that this is not the end of her public service but rather a shift to different avenues. "I am proud of all my achievements," she stated, adding that she will continue to support Yesh Atid's efforts to offer a clear value-based, governmental, and public alternative.

Shir, who previously belonged to Gideon Sa'ar's party, joins other senior Yesh Atid members, including Karin Elharrar, Mickey Levy, and Meir Cohen, in departing the party's slate. She asserted her lifelong commitment to serving the Israeli public and stated her intention to continue doing so in various capacities, given the many challenges facing the nation.
