Israeli NBA Player Deni Avdija Ranked Among Best Contracts

Despite being a key player for the Portland Trail Blazers, Israeli forward Deni Avdija has secured what is considered one of the best contracts in the NBA, according to a ranking by Sports Illustrated. The publication analyzed player salaries for the upcoming season, placing Avdija's contract at number eight overall, with a salary of $13,125,000.

Sports Illustrated highlighted Avdija's contract as potentially the best non-rookie deal in the league. They noted that his performance and potential All-Star trajectory suggest he will command a significantly higher salary once his current contract expires. The analysis pointed out that Avdija earns less than several other players, including rookies like Darrin Peterson and established players like Luke Kennard.

Last year, Avdija was ranked fourth in a similar evaluation, behind Deandre Ayton, Jrue Holiday, and Jerami Grant. This year's ranking places him above several other notable players on the Trail Blazers roster, including Donovan Clingan, Yang Hansen, Mika Potter, Witt Krejci, Sidi Cissoko, Jeremy Sochan, and Brendan Carlson.

Other players recognized for having good contracts include star Damian Lillard, defensive contributor Toumani Camara, rookie Donovan Clingan, and Robert Williams, who serves as a backup center. The majority of the remaining players on the team were described as having less favorable contracts compared to Avdija's deal.
