Southampton Held to Draw as Daniel Peretz's Side Concedes Late Goal

Southampton, featuring Israeli goalkeeper Daniel Peretz, was on the verge of securing a victory on Saturday but conceded a dramatic late equalizer, resulting in a 1-1 draw against Lincoln.

Peretz had a strong performance, making two crucial saves in the first half to deny Freddy Draper a brace. Southampton took the lead just before halftime when Wellington Santos scored with a powerful strike from 30 meters out.

The pressure from the hosts continued in the second half. Despite Peretz making another key save in the 82nd minute against substitute Chio Ogbeana, Lincoln managed to find the back of the net.

In the 87th minute, poor marking by Nathan Wood on a free kick allowed Mikel Ladapo to score with a header, leveling the score and denying Southampton the win. This marks the Saints' second consecutive draw.

After five rounds, Southampton, who were close to Premier League promotion last season, currently sit in 17th place with only four points from a possible fifteen. This was the fifth consecutive match where Peretz failed to keep a clean sheet.
