Alisaf Peretz Joins New Zionist Political Alliance Ahead of Israeli Elections
Alisaf Peretz, an educator, reservist combatant, and social activist, has officially entered Israeli politics and will run in the upcoming elections. Peretz, known as the bereaved brother of fallen Israeli heroes Lieutenant Uriel and Captain Eliraz Peretz and son of Israel Prize laureate Miriam Peretz, is joining a new Zionist political force announced earlier by Knesset member Hili Tropper and Yoaz Hendel, chairman of the "Reservists" party.
Peretz brings extensive experience in education and social work, having founded a pre-military preparatory program and the "Our Brothers" association, which advocates for the recognition of bereaved siblings in Israel and received the President's Award in 2025. For six years, he served as director of the Society and Youth Division in Jerusalem's municipality, leading initiatives involving thousands of youth, soldiers, and educators nationwide. Concurrently, he has completed over 450 days of reserve duty as a combat soldier in the Oded Brigade since the outbreak of recent hostilities.
His supporters highlight his longstanding commitment to strengthening national resilience, social cohesion, and promoting Zionist values, service, and mutual responsibility. Earlier the same day, Hendel and Tropper announced their joint political platform aiming to form a broad Zionist government. Peretz joins other notable figures confirmed on the new list, including Shira Shapira, mother of the late Enar Shapira, first reported by this news outlet.
