Gadi Eisenkot Explores Alliances Ahead of Election Deadline

With just four days remaining before candidate lists must be finalized, former IDF Chief of Staff and "Yesh Atid" party leader Gadi Eisenkot has been holding secret meetings with opposition party leaders. Eisenkot is seeking to reorganize the bloc to ensure an effective electoral run. A potential political union with Naftali Bennett remains an option.

As part of these efforts, Eisenkot met separately with Avigdor Lieberman and Yair Golan to discuss optimal list formations. These political maneuvers occur amidst further shifts, including Gilad Erdan's announcement of his withdrawal from the upcoming elections. Erdan's decision followed Benny Gantz's declaration to run independently, rejecting a coalition with Erdan, based on the principle that a broad union is necessary for joint action.

Changes are also occurring on the political right. Knesset member Tal Gottlieb has joined Itamar Ben-Gvir's bloc, while Ofer Winter insists on running independently. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is exerting significant pressure for rapid consolidations within the right-wing camp to prevent the loss of crucial votes before the list submission deadline.
