Macklemore Calls for Palestinian Liberation at Ed Sheeran Concert

American rapper Macklemore, known for his anti-Israel views, used his opening slot at an Ed Sheeran concert in New Jersey on Friday to call for the "liberation of Palestine." Performing at MetLife Stadium, Macklemore stated that he would not let fear prevent him from speaking his mind, urging the crowd to "Free Palestine, free Cuba, Congo, Sudan, and Iran." He also extended his message to those in America living in fear of ICE, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

Macklemore then performed his song "Hind's Hall," named after a building at Columbia University occupied by students and renamed in honor of Hind Rajab, a Palestinian child killed by Israeli fire during the recent conflict. During the performance, images and videos from Gaza and protests against Israel were displayed on screens behind him. The audience reportedly responded with applause.

Macklemore is scheduled to open for another Ed Sheeran concert on Saturday. Ed Sheeran's representatives have not yet commented on Macklemore's statements. This incident follows a pattern of artists using major platforms to express political views, sometimes drawing significant public reaction.
