Dudu Tassa and Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood Reunite for Jerusalem Oud Festival

Israeli musician Dudu Tassa and Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood are set to reunite on stage to open the 27th International Oud Festival in Jerusalem on November 5th. Their performance will feature "Qaribak Jarak," their collaborative project that reimagines Arabic love songs, including new material and songs from Tassa's band The Kuwaitis.

The musical partnership between Tassa and Greenwood began in 2009 when Greenwood guested on Tassa's album "Basof Metargelim Le'kol." Tassa and The Kuwaitis later opened for Radiohead during their US tour in 2017. In 2023, they released the "Jarak Qaribak" album, which featured guest singers from across the Middle East.

The festival, running from November 5th to November 12th, will take place at multiple venues including the Jerusalem Theatre, Khan Theatre, and Confederation House. The opening night will see Tassa and Greenwood perform songs from their album, new project additions, and Tassa's own band material.

Other notable performances at the festival include a tribute to the late Israeli singer Ahava Ozari, led by Avi Belleli of Tractor's Revenge, featuring guests Efrat Gosh, Hila Ruach, Ruth Dolores Wajs, and Galia Hai. Schlomi Shaban will also present a special festival performance with guests Mark Eliyahu and the Kadosh brothers. The festival will conclude with a joint performance by the band Tip-Ex and the "Ha'hafala Ve'hahora" orchestra.
