The 26th Tamar Festival, one of Israel’s major music events, will run from September 28 to October 2 during Sukkot in four venues across the Tamar Regional Council. Held under the banner “The Nature’s Cultural Hall,” the festival will combine large-scale shows at Masada, sunrise performances, and open events for the public. This year’s edition will also mark 70 years since the council was founded.
The opening night on September 28 will feature Marina Maximilian, Ethnix on its “Rak Ahava Tanchet” tour, and collaborations between Miri Mesika and Keren Peles and between Avraham Tal and Mosh Ben Ari. Over the following days, the main stage will host Dudu Tassa, Sarit Hadad with a show marking 30 years in music, Ravid Plotnik, Noga Erez, Oudi, and Tuna. Berry Sakharof is set to perform material from his new album, due out in early September.
The final night at Masada will close with Jimbo J, Full Trunk, Liran Danino, The Yudim, Ben Tzur, and Eden Ben Zaken. As in previous years, dawn concerts will take place at the Southern Palace site overlooking the Dead Sea, including a tribute to HaHalonot HaGvohim performed by Asaf Amdursky, Shlomi Shaban, and Yael Kraus, an electronic set by Adam Ten and Mita Gami, and a Giraffes show with Micha Shitrit marking 20 years since “Gag.” The sunrise series will end with Hatikva 6 together with Vini Vici and Darwish.
Free performances will also be held in local communities, with Meni Beger and Gal De Paz appearing in Ein Gedi and Alma Gov and Shazamat performing at Nahal Amasiahu Park in the communities of the Dead Sea Valley. Tickets cost between 289 and 369 shekels, and sales are through Ticketmaster.
