Maccabi Haifa Signs Portuguese Winger Pedro Brazão on Three-Year Deal

Israeli football club Maccabi Haifa has officially announced the signing of Portuguese winger Pedro Brazão. The 23-year-old arrived in Israel, successfully completed his medical examinations, and signed a three-season contract with an option for an additional year. Brazão's transfer is seen as a move to bolster the squad, particularly following the injury of Manuel Benson.

Maccabi Haifa secured Brazão's signature for a transfer fee of 700,000 euros. Initially, his former club, Turkish side Bodrum, had demanded around 2 million euros. However, as transfer windows closed across Europe and time passed, Bodrum became more flexible, leading to the reduced fee.

On a personal level, Brazão is set to earn approximately 400,000 euros per season. His contract includes performance-based bonuses and escalates annually. Brazão previously played for Nice in France, Lausanne in Switzerland on loan, and Famalicão in his native Portugal before moving to Bodrum.

During his time in Turkey, Brazão made 101 appearances for Bodrum, scoring 14 goals and providing 4 assists. This past season, he played in three matches without scoring, a contrast to the previous season where he recorded 8 goals and 4 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions. He represented Portugal at various youth levels, including seven caps and one goal for the U-20 team, but has not yet played for the senior or U-21 national teams.
