Hapoel Tel Aviv Eyes Former Player Erez Zaichik for New General Manager Role

Hapoel Tel Aviv is reportedly interested in appointing former player and executive Erez Zaichik as the club's new general manager. The club has already made contact with Zaichik, who previously played for the team during its early years and later served as marketing director and a board member. Zaichik, 48, left the club in 2016 and has since been managing business operations in Thailand.

This potential appointment comes as the club seeks to reconnect with its fanbase, which has seen declining attendance. The move is part of an effort by decision-makers to address the team's current challenges and engage supporters.

The club has experienced significant upheaval recently. Oren Hasson, who served as chairman for two months before becoming general manager, has departed. Two other vice presidents are also expected to leave. Chairman Stav Shaham is currently managing the club with support from the board.

Ofer Yanai, the majority owner who recently reduced his stake to 40%, is allowing the board members to make key decisions and has not intervened in recent dismissals and appointments, including the departure of former general manager Tzachi Reichenstein, who worked with Yanai for three years.
