Iran has continued sending a large number of drones toward commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz since a memorandum of understanding with the United States was announced, NBC reported, citing an American official. The official said the drones are being launched by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
According to the report, the drones are intercepted by the United States before they can threaten commercial vessels, military ships, or personnel in the area. The launches have been taking place every night since the memorandum was signed electronically on Sunday.
The report does not say whether any drones reached their targets or caused damage, only that U.S. forces are stopping them in time.
