The gathering, which included leaders from major New York Hasidic communities such as Bobov-Poll, Vizhnitz, and Skver, notably featured the two rival Satmar Rebbes, Aaron Teitelbaum and Zalman Leib Teitelbaum. The Satmar movement is known for its anti-Zionist stance, which had drawn criticism from some of Trump's allies prior to the meeting. However, the White House proceeded with the event, emphasizing its focus on issues affecting the American Hasidic community.

Key discussions revolved around affordable housing for large families, tax incentives for families with more than three children, and prison reform. Trump also addressed the possibility of pardoning Jewish inmates, referencing his 2017 commutation of Sholom Rubashkin's sentence. While one of the attending rabbis had intended to ask Trump to intervene regarding the IDF draft for ultra-Orthodox Jews in Israel, it was not officially confirmed if this topic was raised during the meeting.

The most significant outcome was a rare handshake and reconciliation between the feuding Satmar Rebbes, who have led competing factions for decades and had minimal contact. This historic moment, facilitated by Trump, saw Aaron Teitelbaum congratulate his brother on his grandson's recent engagement. The White House highlighted the meeting's success in addressing the concerns of the American Hasidic community, including their appreciation for Trump's efforts against antisemitism, support for religious freedom and education, and favorable tax policies.

The meeting also underscored the political importance of the Hasidic community, a demographic known for high voter turnout and strong support for Trump. The event allowed the White House to demonstrate attention to religious Jewish voters while also resolving an unexpected internal conflict within the Satmar community, at least temporarily.
