The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that its soldiers operating east of the "blue line" in northern Gaza came under fire. No Israeli forces were harmed in the incident. In response to the shooting, the IDF conducted strikes in the area.
The military stated that the firing constitutes a "blatant violation" of the Gaza Strip's ceasefire agreement. The IDF "views with severity the attempts by terror organizations in the Gaza Strip to advance and carry out terror plots against IDF forces operating in the area," according to its statement.
