Iran’s Supreme Joint Operations Command, the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters, said on Tuesday that if the IDF does not stop its “aggression” in southern Lebanon, it should expect a “severe response” from Iran’s armed forces.
The warning came days after Tehran and Washington announced a memorandum of understanding meant to end the regional war. Earlier in the day, Al Arabiya reported key elements of the understandings between the United States and Iran.
According to that report, the package calls for an immediate and permanent end to fighting on all fronts, a mutual pledge to avoid hostile actions, lifting the naval blockade on Iran, and reopening shipping routes. It also includes talks on a final agreement within 60 days, exemptions allowing Iranian oil and petrochemical exports, the release of frozen funds and assets, and an economic reconstruction plan worth at least $300 billion.
The reported understandings also include an Iranian commitment not to produce nuclear weapons.
