Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reprimanded IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir during a small cabinet meeting over a letter published this morning by Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Omer Tishler. In the letter, Tishler wrote that the strike formation against Iran was halted one hour before takeoff.
Netanyahu told Zamir that Tishler “did not need to write this.” He said the message was “a national mistake” and argued that it damaged Israel’s unity.
According to Netanyahu, the publication also created “embarrassment before Trump,” referring to former U.S. President Donald Trump. The exchange centered on the political and public fallout from revealing details about the aborted operation.
