Ben Gvir Proposes Israeli-Funded Gaza Emigration Plan
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has unveiled a new policy proposal for the emigration of Gaza Strip residents, dubbed "Disengagement 710." According to reports, Ben-Gvir claims that several countries are prepared to accept residents from Gaza, and that many locals wish to relocate. The plan stipulates that no residents would leave without a pre-defined destination country, and families would remain together.
Israel would fully fund the complex project, making direct payments to recipient countries to cover a comprehensive two-year absorption package. This package would include housing, education, and employment support. Ben-Gvir's central goal is for 1.86 million residents to leave the Strip over a seven-year period.
To oversee the process, Ben-Gvir is calling for the immediate establishment of a government immigration ministry. He stated that this ministry would be managed by a minister and a professional project manager responsible for its operations. The Otzma Yehudit party has indicated its readiness to lead this ministry and execute the project.
