Kiryat Ono Upgrades Sports Facilities Ahead of School Year

The Kiryat Ono municipality has completed extensive upgrades, renovations, and maintenance work on its sports facilities over the summer months, in preparation for the upcoming school and activity year. These facilities are utilized year-round by students, sports clubs, activity groups, and the general public.

Key projects include the inauguration of a new dance studio in the Barak Halperin Hall at the Alumim complex, alongside renovations to the hall and its parquet floor. The Rona Ramon basketball court received a comprehensive upgrade, featuring new hoops, roofing, lighting, and court resurfacing. A new beach volleyball court was established in the municipal sportek.

Additional improvements and maintenance were carried out at various other halls and courts, including those at Shazar, Yaakov Cohen, Nir, Cheinin, Rimonim, and the old stadium. Deputy Mayor and Sports Portfolio holder, Ron Malka, stated that the summer period was utilized to enhance facilities used by thousands of children, teenagers, and residents throughout the year.

Malka emphasized the close collaboration with the education department, noting that many facilities are used by the school system during morning hours. He highlighted that the upgrades were planned with a shared vision for the needs of students, schools, and municipal sports. The municipality pledged to continue investing in sports infrastructure to improve activity environments for its residents.
