13-Year-Old Girl Critically Injured After Drowning at Public Pool
A 13-year-old girl drowned on Tuesday evening at a public swimming pool in the Hevel Modi'in Regional Council area. Magen David Adom teams were called to the scene and gave her initial treatment before evacuating her to the hospital in serious condition.
According to MDA, the emergency call reached its 101 hotline in the Ayalon district at 6:15 p.m. Paramedics and medics treated the girl and took her to Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer. She was listed as seriously and stably injured, unconscious, sedated and on a ventilator.
MDA emergency medic Shlomo Elfasi described the scene, saying, "We received a report about a 13-year-old girl who drowned in a public pool. When we arrived, we saw the girl lying on the edge of the pool unconscious." He said the team began life-saving treatment, including medication, sedation and ventilation, and transported her in an MDA intensive care ambulance while her condition was stable.
