Rabbi Moshe Hillel Hirsch Pledges Support for Needy Families

Rabbi Moshe Hillel Hirsch, a prominent figure in the Lithuanian Torah world, has expressed deep sorrow and pledged significant support for impoverished families, particularly children suffering from hunger and deprivation. Upon learning from the "Kupat Ha'ir" charity organization about families unable to afford basic necessities like air conditioning in the summer or new school books, and children going to sleep hungry, Rabbi Hirsch was moved to tears.

He announced his commitment to raising funds for the "Olelalim Fund," established by the late Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, which specifically aids families at the very bottom of the poverty list. These are families who receive monthly stipends of NIS 3,500 or more, yet still struggle to cover rent, medicine, and educational expenses, often sacrificing food like meat, chicken, and fish.

The "Olelalim Fund" is now operating with a renewed, simplified approach. Instead of direct cash transfers, it provides monthly vouchers exclusively for purchasing meat, chicken, and fish, amounting to NIS 100 per person. This ensures consistent nutritional security for children, providing them with the certainty of having food.

Rabbi Hirsch offered a special blessing to donors, promising "Jewish nachas (satisfaction and pride) from all their children" as a direct reward for their generosity in bringing joy to God's children. Donors contributing NIS 100 per month for three years will receive a "Nachas Document" containing this blessing, wishing their children to be God-fearing, Torah-observant, successful in their studies, and cherished by all.
