Hapoel Tel Aviv Basketball Club CEO Resigns After Just Nine Days
The Hapoel Tel Aviv basketball club is experiencing significant management turmoil following the resignation of its new CEO, Oren Hasson, just nine days after taking office. Hasson, who previously served as chairman of the Football Association, joined the club in June and was initially slated to be chairman before being quickly appointed CEO. The club, owned by businessman Ofer Yanai, officially announced Hasson's departure on Thursday.
In a statement, the club thanked Hasson for his work and wished him success, adding that club chairman Stav Shaham will manage the club until a permanent CEO is appointed. This latest upheaval follows a series of recent management changes, including the dismissal of the previous CEO, Tzachi Reichenstein, a reduction in Ofer Yanai's ownership stake to 40%, and Stav Shaham's appointment as chairman.
Amidst these leadership changes, the team, known as the "Reds," is also facing a decline in season ticket sales ahead of their return to games at the Shlomo Group Arena. The club is reportedly making intensive efforts to attract fans back to the stands.
