IDF Kills Two Palestinians During Raid to Recover Stolen Livestock
Two Palestinian teenagers, aged 16 and 19, were killed Wednesday night in the village of al-Mughayyer in the eastern Benjamin region during a violent riot that erupted following an operation by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and police. The forces entered the village to recover stolen livestock belonging to Israeli civilians. According to an IDF spokesperson, "IDF forces secured the entry of Judea and Samaria District police officers and a civilian into the village of al-Mughayyer in the Benjamin Brigade. The entry was secured for the purpose of returning livestock belonging to Israeli civilians that were found in the village area. The livestock were identified by identifying marks indicating their ownership by Israeli civilians."
During the operation, a violent disturbance broke out, during which militants threw concrete blocks and stones at the forces. The IDF stated that the forces responded by firing at key agitators to neutralize the threat, and hits were identified. The preliminary events leading up to the incident and its management are under investigation.
