Israeli Forces Kill Two Palestinians During Livestock Recovery Operation
Two Palestinian teenagers, aged 16 and 19, were killed Wednesday night in the village of al-Mughayyir, east of Ramallah, during a violent riot that erupted following an operation by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and police. The forces entered the village to recover stolen livestock belonging to Israeli civilians. According to an IDF spokesperson, "IDF forces secured the entry of Judea and Samaria District police officers and a civilian into the village of al-Mughayyir in the Benjamin Brigade. The entry was secured for the purpose of returning livestock belonging to Israeli civilians that were found in the village area. The livestock were identified by identifying marks indicating their ownership by Israeli civilians."
During the operation, a violent disturbance broke out, during which militants threw concrete blocks and stones at the forces. The IDF stated that the forces responded by firing at key instigators to neutralize the threat, and hits were identified. The events leading up to and during the incident are under investigation.
