Poll Shows Israeli Political Blocs Tied, Likud Rises, New Party Passes Threshold
A Channel 13 poll released Wednesday evening indicates a near-even split between Israeli political blocs, with each securing 53 seats. The survey also shows a rise for the Likud party and a new party successfully crossing the electoral threshold.
The poll results project the following seat distribution: "Yashar" (Gadi Eisenkot) leading with 22 seats, followed by Likud (Benjamin Netanyahu) with 21 seats. Naftali Bennett's party is projected to win 12 seats, "Democrats" (Yair Golan) 11, the Joint List 9, and "Yisrael Beiteinu" (Avigdor Lieberman) and "United Torah Judaism" 8 seats each.
Further down, "Otzma Yehudit" and "Shas" are expected to gain 7 seats apiece. The "Religious Zionism" alliance (Smotrich, Feiglin) is projected at 6 seats, and the United Arab List (Ra'am) at 5. Notably, "Am Israel" party (Ofer Winter) is predicted to pass the threshold for the first time with 4 seats.
Several parties failed to clear the minimum electoral requirement, including "Bayit Zionni" (Yoaz Hendel, Chili Tropper), "Blue and White" (Benny Gantz), and "HaAchdut" (Gilad Erdan, Yuli Edelstein).
Regarding the preferred candidate for prime minister, Gadi Eisenkot garnered 47% support, compared to 37% for Benjamin Netanyahu.
