New Poll Shows Israeli Political Blocs Tied at 60 Seats

A new poll conducted by Direct Polls for i24NEWS reveals a dramatic shift in Israel's political landscape, showing a perfect 60-60 tie between the governing coalition and opposition blocs if elections were held today. The Likud party remains the largest single party with 27 seats, followed by the "Yashar" party with 23 seats. Other parties securing seats include "HaDemocratim" and "BeYachad" with 9 seats each, United Torah Judaism with 8, and Shas, Otzma Yehudit, Yisrael Beiteinu, and the Joint List each with 7 seats. Religious Zionism and Zehut garnered 6 seats, while Ra'am and "Amcha Yisrael" secured 5 seats each, passing the electoral threshold.

The poll also explored a hypothetical scenario involving a merger within the right-wing bloc. If Ofer Vinter's party were to unite with Religious Zionism and Zehut under the banner "United Right-Wing Parties" led by Bezalel Smotrich, and MK Tali Gottlieb moved to Otzma Yehudit, the overall bloc balance would remain a 60-60 tie. In this scenario, Likud would slightly decrease to 26 seats, while the "United Right-Wing Parties" would surge to 11 seats. Otzma Yehudit and United Torah Judaism would each hold 8 seats, and Shas would have 7.

The opposition bloc, in this hypothetical, would consist of "Yashar" leading with 23 seats, followed by "HaDemocratim" and "BeYachad" with 9 each, Yisrael Beiteinu and the Joint List with 7 each, and Ra'am with 5 seats. The non-Arab opposition parties would collectively hold 48 seats, with the Arab parties securing 12 seats.

The survey was conducted on September 2, 2026, using a digital system combined with a panel, interviewing 522 adults aged 18 and above. The margin of error is plus or minus 4.2% with a 95% confidence level.
