Israel Detains Over 130 Illegal Migrants This Year
Israeli border control officers have apprehended more than 130 individuals attempting to enter the country illegally since the beginning of 2026. The Population and Immigration Authority reported that 133 foreign nationals were caught trying to circumvent border checks and enter Israel. All apprehended individuals were detained immediately upon arrival.
Georgian citizens constitute the majority of those detained. The number of attempted illegal entries increases during peak seasons, with 54 individuals apprehended over the summer months and an additional four in early September. All those detained were promptly deported to their home countries.
Border control officials stated their commitment to continuing decisive action against such violations and are maintaining enhanced border security measures. The operations are proceeding as normal.
