Israel Detains 133 Foreign Nationals Attempting Illegal Entry This Year
The Population and Immigration Authority reported that 133 foreign nationals have been detained this year while attempting to enter Israel illegally. The majority of these individuals were from Georgia and tried to bypass border control. Thanks to the diligent work of border control officers, they were apprehended before entering the country and subsequently deported.
During the busy summer months, 54 such individuals were detained. Since the beginning of September, an additional 4 have been stopped. All individuals attempting to enter Israel without proper authorization were sent back to their home countries.
The border control system stated it will continue to operate assertively and professionally to eradicate these occurrences.
