Israel Electric Corporation Upgrades Power Grids in Northern West Bank Settlements

The Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) is undertaking significant infrastructure development in the northern West Bank, specifically in the settlements of Kedem and Ganim, as part of efforts to advance and expand these communities. The project involves a total investment exceeding 3.5 million shekels.

In Kedem, the IEC will invest approximately 130,000 shekels to establish the necessary electrical infrastructure for connecting the settlement to the national grid. This work is set to commence shortly.

A more extensive project is planned for Ganim, with an investment of around 3.37 million shekels. This initiative includes the installation of approximately 3.5 kilometers of underground high-voltage cables, along with low-voltage infrastructure and other components to serve the settlement and a nearby military base. These new power lines are designed with long-term expansion in mind, aiming to ensure a reliable and continuous electricity supply as the settlements grow and new homes are occupied.

Meir Spiegler, CEO of the Israel Electric Corporation, stated that the company is acting in accordance with government decisions to provide the necessary electricity infrastructure for the settlements. He emphasized the goal of supplying power before residents move into homes and public buildings, highlighting the importance of electricity for daily life.
