Jerusalem Police Seek Breakthrough in Anastasia Orlov Murder Case

Over 18 months after the murder of Anastasia Orlov in Jerusalem, the Jerusalem District Police are bringing in a new investigative team to re-examine the case in hopes of a breakthrough. The original investigation has involved over 100 testimonies and investigative actions conducted both domestically and internationally. The new team's task is to review all collected evidence, testimonies, and previous investigative leads to identify any overlooked details, unexplored angles, or new directions that could advance the case.

The primary responsibility for the investigation remains with the specialized unit within the Jerusalem District Police. This initiative aims to introduce fresh perspectives due to the lack of significant progress in the case for over a year and a half. Anastasia Orlov, 38, a mother of one, was found deceased in her apartment in the Kiryat Yovel neighborhood of Jerusalem on January 17, 2025. She was employed at the Hadassah Hospital's cardiology unit and held two degrees in health systems from a Jerusalem university. Friends remembered her for her love of animals and volunteer work.

Initially, various possibilities regarding her death were explored, but subsequent findings raised suspicions, leading the case to be classified as a murder investigation. The complex nature of the crime scene, due to undisclosed findings, has presented significant challenges. Despite examining various scenarios, including the possibility of accidental death, the police are committed to uncovering the truth behind Orlov's murder.

Jerusalem District Commander Superintendent Asher Fuld regularly reviews unsolved murder cases, including Orlov's, to assess findings, actions taken, and potential future steps.
