Israeli Forces Simulate Mass Terrorist Infiltration Drill Near Hebron

Israeli police and emergency forces conducted a large-scale drill simulating a mass infiltration of terrorists into Israel from the southern Hebron area, a region described as having significant security gaps. The exercise, named "Ra'am Yehuda" (Thunder of Judea), took place in eastern Lachish and prepared for scenarios including a breach of the separation barrier, the use of explosive drones, and attacks on strategic facilities.

Security officials fear that the next major terrorist attack could originate from this vulnerable area. The drill, which involved months of preparation, focused on repelling an invasion of local communities. It was timed to precede the start of the school year and the High Holidays, periods considered potentially volatile.

The exercise drew parallels to the situation in the Gaza envelope communities, which are also protected by a barrier deemed insufficient against determined attackers.
