Shas MK blasts deputy attorney general in Knesset committee row

During a heated Constitution Committee session, MK Arze Malul of Shas attacked Deputy Attorney General Gil Limon and accused him of trying to harm the ultra-Orthodox public and the governing coalition.

Malul said Limon was acting out of hatred and trying to inflame internal division. “You are driven by hatred. You want brotherly hatred. You want to break up Israeli society,” he said, adding that Limon and the dismissed attorney general had “put sticks in the wheels” of the draft bill.

He also alleged that authorities had opened a “war room” whose sole purpose was to find ways to impose more sanctions on the ultra-Orthodox, and said, “You are harming women and toddlers.”

Malul then claimed that Limon had been promised the next attorney general post if he succeeded in bringing down the government. “That will not happen,” he said. “There will be elections and the public will have its say. The public is fed up with your dictatorship.”
