Illegal Immigrants from Jenin Caught in Acre; Driver Arrested
Police in the Old City of Acre apprehended two undocumented residents from Jenin who were illegally present in Israel. The driver of the vehicle they were traveling in, a resident of northern Israel, was arrested on suspicion of transporting them. The arrests occurred during a proactive checkpoint established near the Horse Beach area.
In a separate incident in Rekhasim, police officers from Kiryat Ata detained an undocumented worker from the territories who was employed in renovation work. Both the worker and his employer were arrested. Additionally, following an investigation at the Acre police station, an indictment was filed against another undocumented woman who had been located and arrested in recent days.
The Israel Police stated that they will continue to maintain a strong presence and act decisively against illegal residents and anyone who aids them through actions such as transportation, harboring, or employment.
