Lebedig Band Releases New Breslov Medley Ahead of Rosh Hashanah Pilgrimage

As tens of thousands of Breslov Hasidim prepare for the annual pilgrimage to Uman, Ukraine, for Rosh Hashanah, the young and energetic Lebedig band has released a new musical project titled 'HaMelech' (The King). This vibrant medley aims to connect the fervent prayers of the High Holidays and the Uman gathering with contemporary musical innovation.

The project features prominent artists from the Hasidic music scene, including singers Abirami Longe and Abirami Moshkovitz, who deliver emotional performances. The musical accompaniment includes virtuoso clarinetist Abirami Stern, keyboardist Nachman Stern, saxophonist Nachman David, and guitarist Yossi Baruch, creating a rich sonic tapestry.

A standout moment in the medley is an awe-inspiring shofar solo performed by David Chacham Harrelson, an internationally recognized shofar player. Harrelson, who also produced the project, delivers a powerful shofar blast that evokes the holiday spirit. The inclusion of the shofar, a symbol of mercy and repentance, is central to the piece.

Nachman Stern arranged the music, skillfully balancing traditional Hasidic melodies with modern energy. The medley incorporates familiar Breslov tunes and prayers, preserving their spiritual depth while offering a fresh, engaging musical interpretation. The Lebedig orchestra infuses the project with the band's characteristic youthful dynamism.
