DJ Skazi Lands Safely in Athens After Emergency Landing Due to Technical Fault
International musician and DJ Skazi, whose real name is Asher Swissa, and his personal manager experienced a serious safety incident on Tuesday while en route to a performance in Mykonos, Greece. Their passenger flight suffered a critical technical malfunction with the front landing gear, leading to hours of tension and uncertainty in the air.
The aircraft initially canceled its planned landing in Mykonos at the last minute. It circled in the air for approximately six hours, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, before being forced to make an emergency landing at Athens International Airport. Fire trucks and ambulances were on standby on the runway, fully prepared for the dangerous landing.
After a tense period aboard the plane, all passengers were safely evacuated in Athens. Skazi is now awaiting an update regarding a connecting flight to reach his scheduled performance in Mykonos, part of his summer concert series.
Skazi is recognized as one of the most successful Israeli artists in the global electronic music scene, known for his energetic performances worldwide. In the past year, he notably collaborated with Iranian artists, a move that garnered significant attention, and also faced the cancellation of his performance at the Tomorrowland festival in Belgium due to political pressure.
Similar aviation incidents involving emergency landings are not entirely uncommon. Previous reports include a plane making an emergency landing in Bermuda due to a strong odor from a cargo of pigs, and an El Al flight landing in Turkey following a medical emergency.
