Sara Netanyahu Details Family's 'Heavy Price' in Exclusive Interview

Sara Netanyahu, wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, gave an exclusive interview to Channel 14's Tal Meir, discussing the "heavy price" her family has paid during her husband's long political career. She described her children as growing up "under a campaign of persecution" and feeling they were "born into" this life without a choice. Netanyahu stated she would "absolutely not" recommend her sons enter politics due to the immense sacrifices required.

Netanyahu also addressed the media's portrayal of her, claiming "mind engineering, distortions, and lies" have been used to create a false image. She believes this negative attention is directly linked to her husband's position, asserting "if I wasn't where I am, married to who I am married to, none of this would have happened." She also revealed her intention to focus on her family after concluding 26 years as a psychologist in the public service.

Regarding security threats, Netanyahu claimed authorities are not responding with sufficient severity to explicit death threats against her family, stating "bombs were thrown at us" and describing a "circle of fire" around their home. Despite this, she acknowledged the Shin Bet under Ronen Bar has protected them, preventing their deaths amidst incitement.

Discussing the ongoing trial of Prime Minister Netanyahu, she dismissed the bribery charges as "far from the whole truth," arguing that relationships between politicians and the media have never been defined as bribery. She also recounted an incident where protesters surrounded a Tel Aviv hair salon where she was, describing it as a frightening experience and a demonstration of perceived ownership of the country by a small group.

On the events of October 7th, Netanyahu suggested that if the Prime Minister had been fully informed, the outcome would have been different, stating, "if he had known, all of this would not have happened, or at least not the majority of what happened." She also shared her positive relationship with former US President Donald Trump, who she said told her that without Netanyahu as Prime Minister after October 7th, "most likely, you would already be dead."
