Elderly Man Found Deceased in Bnei Brak Apartment After Neighbors Report Foul Odor
Neighbors in Bnei Brak alerted emergency services on Tuesday afternoon after detecting a strong, foul odor emanating from an apartment on Jabotinsky Street. Responding teams discovered the body of a man, approximately 70 years old, in an advanced state of decomposition.
Volunteers from ZAKA, an Israeli emergency response organization, were dispatched to the scene to handle the difficult situation. They reported that the neighbors had called for help after noticing the pervasive smell.
ZAKA volunteers worked to ensure the deceased was treated with dignity and to collect evidence. They also assisted investigators from the National Center for Forensic Medicine, who were present at the scene.
The body was subsequently transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine for further examination and processing. The exact cause of death was not immediately released.
