Man Charged with Threatening to Bomb Sites Near Netanyahu's Home

Mahmoud Abd Elmajid, 27, has been indicted on 14 counts of threats and assault. Prosecutors allege that in early August, Abd Elmajid repeatedly called the police emergency hotline, identifying himself and threatening violence against police officers, Jews, Arabs, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. During one call, he claimed to have placed a bomb near Netanyahu's home and warned of a large explosion within ten minutes.

Abd Elmajid also issued an ultimatum, demanding that all Jews leave Israel by 7 PM and all prisoners be released within an hour, threatening "big chaos" if his demands were not met. He further claimed to be armed with an M16 rifle and a handgun, stating he was waiting for police in Ilut Junction and explicitly confirmed he was threatening the police. The indictment also includes threats to detonate explosives in the cities of Haifa, Nazareth, and Tel Aviv.

In addition to the phone threats, Abd Elmajid is accused of assaulting a passenger on a bus in Haifa on the same morning. According to the indictment, he approached a passenger, grabbed his shirt, and pulled him to the floor. When the passenger stood up, Abd Elmajid again pulled his arm forcefully, causing him to fall to the floor a second time.
