Man Charged with Groping 10 Women in Single Day After Previous Arrests

A 22-year-old man, Eliyahu Ganah, has been indicted for a series of indecent assaults against women in Netanya. The charges detail a disturbing pattern of behavior, including multiple incidents occurring within a single day after he had already been investigated and released under house arrest for prior offenses. According to the indictment, Ganah entered residential buildings, exposed himself, and touched women without consent.

Ganah was initially investigated on July 31 and August 1 for two separate incidents. He was subsequently released to house arrest for five days. However, just three days later, he allegedly violated the terms of his release, leaving his home on a motorcycle. That night, he is accused of riding onto a sidewalk and groping two women. He was arrested again but later released to house arrest pending hospitalization until August 11.

Despite these measures, prosecutors allege that Ganah continued his alleged offenses. On August 16, within a span of less than two hours, he is accused of committing nine separate incidents of touching or attempting to touch women on the street while riding his motorcycle. These incidents involved grabbing women's buttocks, touching their thighs, and one instance of grabbing a woman's chest. The final alleged incident, the tenth that day, occurred later that evening when he allegedly lifted a woman's skirt and groped her.

Investigators have compiled evidence including victim testimonies, eyewitness accounts, real-time emergency calls, and security camera footage from August 16 that allegedly shows a motorcyclist matching Ganah's description at the times and locations of the complaints. During interrogations on August 18 and 20, Ganah reportedly confessed to the acts, though he provided differing accounts of how they occurred.

Prosecutors are seeking to keep Ganah in custody until the end of legal proceedings, arguing that his repeated actions, especially after being investigated and violating house arrest, demonstrate a significant risk to the public and a disregard for the law. They contend that no alternative to detention can adequately mitigate the danger he poses.
