Netanyahu's Son Warns MK Maoz About Wasting Right-Wing Votes

Yair Netanyahu, son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, publicly urged MK Avi Maoz on Twitter to reconsider his political strategy, warning that Maoz's refusal to unite with other right-wing factions could lead to a significant loss of votes for the bloc. Netanyahu specifically stated that Maoz "knows very well that you will not pass the electoral threshold alone in any scenario." He argued that Maoz's insistence on running independently risks repeating the outcome of the 1992 elections.

Netanyahu drew a parallel to the 1992 elections, attributing the loss of the right-wing majority and the subsequent rise of the Yitzhak Rabin government to the refusal of Geula Cohen and Rabbi Levinger to unite. He claimed this "burned votes for the right" and led to a government supported by Arab parties, despite the right winning a majority of votes.

Addressing Maoz directly, Netanyahu cautioned that a similar scenario could unfold now, potentially leading to a government headed by Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot, which he characterized as aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood. He reiterated that Maoz's refusal to unite or withdraw, and his insistence on running alone, would result in wasted votes for the right-wing camp.
