Magical Coffee Cart Honors Slain Lookout in Ganey Tal
A unique coffee cart named 'Shishu' has opened at the entrance to Ganey Tal, near the moshav of Bnei Re'em, as a tribute to the memory of Shi Asheram, a lookout who was murdered in Nahal Oz. Shi, whose nickname was Shishu, was killed during the October 7th Hamas attacks. The coffee cart was established by a friend of the family who owns the property, working alongside Shi's mother to create a special place in her honor.
The 'Shishu' coffee cart is located within a horse farm and aims to embody Shi's spirit through its service and offerings. The establishment emphasizes hospitality and delicious food prepared on-site. Menu highlights include sweet and savory kubana bread with various fillings like Nutella, special pizzas, tuna bread, and shakshuka, all served with fresh ingredients.
Beyond the culinary experience, the farm offers horseback riding, various animals, children's play areas, and another memorial for fallen soldier Itamar Alharar, who died in the Judean Desert. Shi's image is prominently displayed at the entrance, with a sign stating, "All blessings in memory of Shi." The coffee cart is described as a delightful and tasty experience combined with a place of remembrance.
