Foreign Activist Facing Deportation After Alleged Child Harassment in Hebron Hills

The Population and Immigration Authority is preparing to hold a hearing for a foreign activist arrested on Saturday in the Hebron Hills, with deportation from Israel being considered. The activist was apprehended following a complaint alleging the assault of a minor and other offenses. Police stated that the arrest occurred after the individual was involved in a disturbance and a complaint was filed against him.

Video footage from the scene shows the activist near a gate, obstructing passage for Jewish individuals. The video depicts a child attempting to pass, at which point the activist allegedly made physical contact with the child. Bystanders intervened, detaining the activist until police arrived. Officers from the Hebron station responded, conducted an initial investigation, and subsequently arrested the foreign national, transferring him for police questioning.

The investigation was handled by the inter-organizational command in the Judea and Samaria district. Based on the gathered evidence, the case materials were forwarded to the Population and Immigration Authority for a hearing and a decision regarding his expulsion from Israel.

This case is being handled in accordance with the policy of National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, aiming to thwart activities involving friction and disturbances in various locations across Judea and Samaria. Police sources indicated that such incidents could harm Israel's image and stated they would not permit riots by anarchist activists.

Police in the Judea and Samaria district affirmed their commitment to utilizing all their authorities in cooperation with security and law enforcement agencies to prevent friction and violence, often fueled by incitement, which can lead to disturbances. They emphasized that those involved will be apprehended and prosecuted.
