Foreign Activist Arrested for Sexual Assault on Child Near Hebron Settlement

The Hebron Regional Council reported a serious incident over the weekend involving three children aged 10 to 12 traveling from the settlement of Carmel to the nearby Barqai neighborhood. Approximately 50 meters from Barqai, the children encountered Palestinians and foreign activists who began harassing them. The situation escalated when one of the foreign activists allegedly sexually assaulted one of the children.

Residents of Barqai noticed the incident, intervened promptly, and detained the suspect until police arrived. The suspect was arrested and is currently in police custody. The father of the assaulted child filed an official complaint at the police station.

Eliram Azulai, head of the Hebron Regional Council, condemned the act, describing it as a dangerous and criminal crossing of a red line. He emphasized the ongoing provocations by anti-Israel activists living near Barqai who disrupt residents' daily lives. Azulai called on the Israeli police and judicial system to impose the full severity of the law on the perpetrator without compromise and thanked the residents for their vigilance and quick response that prevented further harm.
