Three Youths Charged in Violent Taxi Driver Robbery Attempt

The Southern District Attorney's Office has filed an indictment against three young men, aged 18-19, for a violent robbery attempt against a taxi driver en route to Beersheba. The defendants, residents of Abu Talul, Bnei Brak, and Kiryat Ata, are accused of attempted robbery under aggravated circumstances and endangering human life on a roadway.

According to the indictment, on August 8, while the taxi was traveling at approximately 100 km/h on Route 31 towards Beersheba, two of the accused attacked the driver with punches and attempted to strangle him. The driver, while trying to maintain control of the vehicle and fend off the assault, swerved the taxi towards a concrete barrier, causing a collision.

Following the crash, the driver attempted to escape the vehicle, but two of the youths continued to assault him. The indictment details the severe nature of the attack, highlighting the danger posed to the driver and other road users.
