Three Youths Charged After Violent Taxi Attack at 100 km/h on Highway 31

The Southern District Attorney's Office has filed charges against three young men accused of violently attacking a taxi driver while traveling at approximately 100 kilometers per hour on Highway 31, between Arad and Kisifa. The defendants, Nadi Alaasem (18) from Abu Tulul, Nehorai Stoloff (19) from Kiryat Ata, and Yaakov Yosef Shaul Mushkovich (19) from Bnei Brak, allegedly planned to rob the driver by luring him to a pickup point and assaulting him during the ride.

According to the indictment submitted to the Beersheba District Court by attorney Wasim Abu Amar, the suspects boarded the taxi and instructed the driver to take them to Beersheba. Alaasem wore a face mask and gloves, warning the driver not to stop or contact the police. Shortly after, Alaasem and Stoloff began punching and choking the driver while the vehicle was moving at high speed, causing it to swerve dangerously among other cars.

In an effort to stop the attack and reduce danger to other road users, the driver steered the taxi into a concrete median barrier, crashing into it. Despite the collision, the assault continued until the driver managed to escape the vehicle. The three suspects then fled the scene on foot. The charges include attempted robbery under aggravated circumstances and endangering human life on a transportation route. The case is under investigation by the Dimona-Rotem police station.

Attorney Abu Amar emphasized the severity of the violent offense, noting the defendants' persistence in attacking the driver until he was forced to crash. The indictment highlights the risk posed to the driver and other motorists during the incident.
