Israeli NGOs Seek Volunteers for Cancer Patient Families, Food Distribution, and Assistance for the Visually Impaired

Several Israeli nonprofit organizations are actively recruiting volunteers across the country to support various community needs. The "Ruach Tova" association, part of the Arison Group, connects volunteers with thousands of nonprofits and local authorities to promote volunteering nationwide.

The "Noladet Lanetzach" organization seeks volunteers aged 18 and over to cook meals for families dealing with cancer in multiple cities. Volunteers join WhatsApp groups by city or neighborhood to schedule shifts at their convenience. In Safed, the "Good Neighbor" branch needs drivers with cars to deliver food packages to needy families, operating in small teams on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In the Sharon region, the "Gemach" in Avihail collects donations of clothing, household items, and toys, seeking responsible volunteers aged 10 and above to sort and prepare packages on Fridays. In the Tel Aviv area, the "Migdal Or" center offers functional and occupational rehabilitation for the blind and visually impaired, looking for volunteers to assist with reading documents and materials at the workplace once a week, Monday through Thursday.

Jerusalem's "Supporting Community" association invites volunteers aged 19 and older to visit elderly residents weekly, engaging in activities such as walks, gardening, reading newspapers, and technological assistance. In the south, the "Rachel Litschak" nursing home in Kfar Ahim requires volunteers aged 12 and up to provide personal companionship, group activities, and support for occupational therapy, with flexible scheduling throughout the week.

All volunteer opportunities can be long-term or one-time, with registration available through the respective organizations' websites. These initiatives aim to strengthen community support for vulnerable populations including cancer patients, the elderly, and people with disabilities across Israel.
