Israeli Security Forces Prepare to Open Erez Crossing for Goods Entry

Israeli security agencies are preparing to reopen the Erez Crossing exclusively for the entry of goods. Although a final date for the crossing's reopening has not yet been approved, the National Security Council has authorized advancing the preparations. The decision is based on several factors, including enhanced inspection capabilities for aid trucks without increasing the volume of goods allowed through. Additionally, Germany has contributed a scanning device to improve the inspection process at the crossing. The reopening is also expected to benefit communities near the Gaza border by reducing truck traffic on Route 232.
