Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Minister Simcha Rothman have called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to prevent the deployment of a multinational force into the Gaza Strip. They warned that intense preparations are underway to introduce a force into Gaza that would be significantly larger and have a fundamentally different role than what was initially presented to the Israeli cabinet. Smotrich and Rothman demanded that the cabinet make a decision by the following day to block the entry of this force or any other similar force until Hamas is completely disarmed.
