Lockheed Martin Seeks to Deepen Partnerships with Israeli Tech and Defense Firms
Lockheed Martin is exploring ways to expand its collaboration with Israeli companies, focusing on defense, aviation, and cybersecurity sectors. The discussions took place last week in Jerusalem during a meeting between Israel's Minister of Economy and Industry, Nir Barkat, and Orlando Sanchez Jr., President of Lockheed Martin's Aviation Division, along with other senior company officials.
During the meeting, Lockheed Martin representatives outlined their current operations and subcontracting relationships within Israel. The Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry showcased the local industrial and technological ecosystem's capabilities, emphasizing defense, aviation, and cyber sectors. They also highlighted ongoing efforts by the ministry and the Industrial Cooperation Authority to foster partnerships between international companies and Israeli industry.
Key participants included Tal Glor, CEO of Lockheed Martin Israel, and senior company figures involved in innovation and aviation platform development. From the Israeli side, Norit Rabinov, head of the industrial division, representatives from the Industrial Cooperation Authority, and the National Growth Authority also attended.
Hovav Raf, Business Development Manager at the Industrial Cooperation Authority, noted Lockheed Martin's long-standing industrial presence in Israel and the potential to broaden cooperation both within existing projects and new areas. Elinor Jacobson, Defense and Cyber Cluster Manager at the National Growth Authority, presented the cluster's activities and the diverse capabilities of Israeli companies in defense and cybersecurity.
Both the Ministry of Economy and the Industrial Cooperation Authority committed to continuing to explore opportunities to deepen ties with Lockheed Martin, including subcontracting and technological collaborations.
