Guy Peleg Questions Former Netanyahu Aide Yoav Horovitz on Silence Over Risky Decisions

תורגם ותומצת מתוך Maariv על ידי baba
The story · English

Journalist Guy Peleg expressed discomfort during an interview with Yoav Horovitz, a former senior official in Prime Minister Netanyahu's office, questioning why Horovitz remained silent for so long despite witnessing dangerous decision-making patterns. Peleg praised Horovitz as an impressive and ethical figure with a commendable record, contrasting him with typical political operatives. However, he challenged Horovitz on how a person of integrity should act when aware of decisions that jeopardize national security and when powerful figures, including the Prime Minister and his wife, spread falsehoods and incite against journalists exposing the truth.

Peleg suggested that Horovitz might have stayed in his role hoping to influence decisions from within but criticized his silence after leaving the office. He noted that since Horovitz's departure, Israel has undergone four election cycles, questioning whether an ethical person could remain silent as Horovitz did. The interview aired on 103FM and was part of a program hosted by Yaron Avraham on Channel 12's "Friday Studio."
