Israeli Immigration Services Firm Files for Bankruptcy Amid Trump-Era Policy Changes
Momo Global Marketing and Distribution Ltd. (Momo Global), an Israeli company providing international immigration services primarily to clients moving from Israel to the United States, has filed an urgent petition for bankruptcy proceedings due to debts exceeding 20 million shekels. The company, which has operated for 14 years, cited a severe financial crisis beginning in 2025 that led to insolvency. This downturn was largely attributed to changes in U.S. immigration policy under President Donald Trump, who took office in early 2025 and implemented stricter immigration measures, including plans to reduce or eliminate the Green Card lottery program. These policy shifts caused a significant drop in demand for Momo Global's services, which had heavily relied on U.S. immigration pathways.
Additionally, the company reported that the war with Iran in March 2026 and a sharp decline in the dollar exchange rate further eroded its revenues. Until 2025, Momo Global was profitable, but these combined factors turned it into a loss-making entity. The firm employs approximately 123 workers and has struggled to secure sufficient funding to continue operations or meet immediate financial obligations, including employee salaries. Despite interest from potential buyers, no ready financing source has been found.
Represented by Dr. Gilad Wexelman of Herzog, Fox & Neeman, Momo Global emphasized its role in simplifying complex immigration processes for private clients, including handling technical requirements, official forms, and understanding U.S. immigration authorities' demands. The company concluded that filing for bankruptcy protection was unavoidable and requested the appointment of an independent trustee to manage its assets, preserve its systems and documents, assess debts and assets, and maximize creditor returns. This trustee would also facilitate employee payments through the National Insurance Institute.
