Arel Segal Accuses Israeli Military of a Culture of False Investigations Over Deadly West Bank Attack

During a broadcast of the program "The Patriots" on Channel 14, panelist Arel Segal sharply criticized the Israeli military's handling of a deadly attack near the Gilad Farm in the West Bank. Segal accused the military of maintaining a "culture of false investigations" for the past 70 years, specifically referencing the incident in which hikers near the village of Tel were brutally attacked and two soldiers, Lt. Col. Yuval Ezra and reservist Captain Benyahu Maltz, were killed while defending them.

Segal highlighted that the military initially denied knowledge of the hiking trip, stating, "We did not know about this trip." However, after the publication of WhatsApp messages between military officers, the official narrative changed to, "We knew about the trip, but we did not manage to prevent the attack." Segal condemned this shift, asserting that the military adjusts facts to protect its image, saying, "If something does not fit, they fix it properly, making it work in favor of the military."

Another panelist agreed with Segal's assessment, and Segal emphasized that this phenomenon of misleading investigations has persisted for seven decades. The criticism comes amid ongoing scrutiny of the military's transparency and accountability in handling security incidents in the West Bank.
